Frustration with XIAO Products

I just received my nrf52840 board a couple of days ago and I have a similar feeling.

So, board installation don’t work out of the box in aduino IDE:

"Seeed nRF52 Boards" update to 1.1.3 causes compile error

I just received the “Seeed Studio XIAO nRF52840” (the basic one, not the sense). First, I wanted to use it with arduino ide (1.8.18). Adafruit nrf52 boards were installed for a couple of years. So, I just added the url for seeed boards. When I tried to compile Blink, I faced the USBD issue. I removed the url for seeed boards and, later, all seed folders that I can find. I downloaded your patch and copied the content to the corresponding arduino folder. Now, I’m facing the missing nrf_soc.h file …

After solving the first issue, I wanted to check the Power Consumption Verification sketch provided in the wiki:

BTW, as a first step to low power, I want to use the demo provided by seeedstudio : Power Consumption Verification. I opened deep_sleep.ino in arduino IDE (1.8.18). I can’t compile it: low_power:81:12: error: 'class Adafruit_SPIFlash' has no member named 'deepPowerDown' 81 | if(flash.deepPowerDown() == false){ | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any tip?

Reading the 170 earlier messages in the same thread, it seems that one have stay with version 1.0.0 of board library. Indeed, with the tip used for install, I can’t manage the board version in board manager for my seeed board.

But, one should not be afraid as R&D is working.
