I need to make a flexible PCB that will also mount into a M.2 card socket requiring a double sided 0.8mm thickness. I assume this would be considered a Flexible-Rigid style in the advanced PCB processing. When making Flexible PCB design is it possible to have you directly laminate a flexible PCB to a traditional fixed PCB edge (maybe only on one side) or do I need to design using an FFC style socket to mount the flexible edge onto the PCB. If the later do you have any recommendations as to the best FCC socket connectors to use? If the PCB laminate is possible then any design hints and requirements would be gratefully accepted.
I think you are looking for a typical rigid-flex design. The circuit of the regular FR-4 part is connected to the flexible part without the need for connectors.
