Just got a DS Nano and I’ve connected it to my Mac to do the firmware update.
Unfortunately in update mode (starting up whilst holding down the minus (-) button), it keeps mounting/dismounting (“Disk Not Ejected Properly”) which means I can’t get dfu-util to see it.
The DFU is not well compatible with 64bits systems now. The designer is working at this issue, but no handy solution due to the limit of resource of the STM32 chip. Before any official solution comes up, here are a few workarounds you can try.
Install a VM software, then install a 32bits operation system, e.g. XP, Ubuntu 32bits, etc.
Find a PC with 32bits OS running to upgrade the firmware (Windows 7 & Windows 8 64bits can be supported with the latest batch’s DFU).
Sorry for the inconvenience, we are speed up to fix this.
Thanks.
