Dead RGB LED matrix w/Driver - which part is dead?

I bought a Grove - RGB LED Matrix w/Driver

It worked fine for about 20 minutes and then died, after reading the wiki more carefully I saw that powering it from an UNO is not recommended (which is what I did).

Which part is likely dead - the LEDs, or the board underneath? I’d like to be able to reuse the working part.

Maybe you need to test it. This should be easy to judge

How would you recommend testing it? I do not have another LED Matrix

I’ve got a problem with that. Does anyone have a better idea?
