A potentiometer can be used to modify the speed of a DC power source, a high-speed DC motor, and an emerald engraving machine.
The current fault is that it is unable to modify the speed; the multimeter detects a DC output of 42 volts, while the potentiometer’s output voltage remains unchanged.
So I assumed the LM723 was faulty, replaced it, and the problem persisted.
