connecting grove heart rate finger clip sensor to esp32

Hi there,



I’m currently doing a project and wanted to use a heart rate module combined with my huzzah32 (esp32).

I’m connecting the module to the dedicated SDA and SCL pins on the huzzah and I added a 4.7K ohm pull-up to both the signal lines.

On a I2C scanner the module shows up with address 0x50.



Now I seem to be getting a connection for a while but after a couple of readings the connection just dies :frowning:

Hi, may i know if u managed to solve this issue? As I am working on similar project and I face the issue that failed to get the bpm. Could u please help if u managed to work ? Thanks

I ditched the grove hearth rate finger clip sensor and went for a MAX30105 particle sensor. Does more than the grove heart rate sensor and was easier to connect. And was cheaper I think at that time.

I can’t remember very well why, but I think it had something to do with the connection(timing) issues between the stm32 (chip on the finger clip) and the huzzah.
