I wish to connect and use DotStar Digital LED Strip - Black 60 LED (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2239?length=1) via the grove connector using Seeeduino V4.2, How can I do it? what are the components needed? and how do I program the LEDs?

You need a 12 DC power and a Grove-LED_Strip_Driver to finish the connection.

Thanks. What is the procedure if the LED are 5V? Do I have to connect an external power supply?

If the LED is 5V,
you must use a 5V DC power supply to power these strips, do not use higher than 6V or you can destroy the entire strip.
