I bought these T1000-E Card Trackers thinking I could use them as a “tracker” but I am currently stumped as there are no instructions for using these as a tracking device.
How do I use the Trackers as trackers?
Hi there,
SO have you looked at the Wiki for the device? They are relatively new but the info AFAIK is out there, But I would agree… Aside from the SLick marketing I don’t see a lot of Successful posts in this part of the endeavor.(tracking)
Someone that has this working like @cgwaltney can you punch in and Drop some knowledge on us on this? what is the issue, GPS, WiFi or BLE or Smashtastic

I read the wiki and all the other docs I could find and YouTube videos but they are all just basic setup stuff.
I did find a very complete guide to the A/B versions but it doesn’t cover the Meshtastic E version.
I have one… i use it every day… it does nothing… it needs upgraded firmware but i am afraid i will brick it… I heard from a airplane going overhead from canada to brazil once… it would be good if you had a friend and wanted to send meshtastic LoRa messages to each other across a river or valley
The T100-A would be better as a “Tracker” but its GPS does not work and you need LoRa or Helium Coverage in your area… which I do not have… so It only tells me when it is home… Other than that a great product
I’d like to be able to send gps messages and also store/retrieve gps positions to make a track.
Maps would be nice. Meshtastic has maps already for locating devices. Attack on the map would be useful.
that device is mainly a meshtastic unit… it works and is maintained by the meshtastic group
depending on your device you may have to update the bootloader on the chip and the firmware as well
If you are really interested, try looking at the Seeed Discord Server
The a-holes on that discord threatoned to get me fired so i blocked it and no longer participate
I did read and search the discord server but it’s a messy pile of random stuff.
I don’t see how anyone finds anything useful there.
Hi there,
Well there you Go! I knew @cgwaltney had the 411 on the “WHOLE” pun intended in the “Tracker” part it’s not there yet IMHO… I’m holding out for the WiFi Locationing version from Nordic accurate both indoors and outside, NO GPS required which to me is the WINNER!
There solution uses both BLE and WiFi to do SUB meter indoors and 1 meter accuracy outdoors, Hell that’s better than my "horseshoes " or “Jarts” game
No one really so far has it perfect so It’s great to get in on it NOW! and get up to speed.

Hi there,
Yea, They are morons running that discord… They get butt hurt when you tell them how the oh’ so Holy Mesh was a BALL of yarn jammed up tighter than 2 coats of paint…When they tried rolling it out(meshtastiz) at the biggest Ham convention and touted it as the next Coming… POOF until someone turned it on… so many mesh updates NO, ZERO, NADA data could get through it was a mess and I was howling at them running around , making excuses and not admitting it was a gimmick not really ready for prime time.
Screw those clowns, let them keep their cult over there.
I’d rather use ESP-NOW… LOL

The T1000-E Card Trackers are likely RFID or NFC devices rather than GPS trackers. To use them as trackers, ensure they are compatible with an RFID reader or similar system for asset tracking. Check the product manual or contact the manufacturer for setup instructions, as they may not function as standalone GPS tracking devices.
the E model works only as a Meshtastic node… it does use gps… but the gps is not instentanious location The gps location seems to only be resolved after pinging off another meshtastic node
