Doh, I forgot to check both top layer and board outline in the export-gerber menus in diptrace.

I have a question about the board outline.
I work in Diptrace, and it generates a board outline gerber file.
Can I use this and add it to the other files (top, bottom etc ) or do I need to make a board outline , fex on silk layer or just by copper drawn on either top or bottom layer ?
