There are plenty standard grove cables but for a project I have I want to place the two modules I use as close as possible together. I can’t find any simple solution to connect them directly.

Not quite. I want the opposite of the first connector you posted. Yours is female-female and I want a male-male so I can skip the cable between two modules. The modules have both a female connector that would be ideal to connect to another modules female connector with a little piece in-between.
