When there is no other category, General is the way to go
I have been noticing the number of Replies compared to the number of Views.
There are many Views but very few Replies (in relation to).
There is a message in those numbers.
Unfortunately the message is not good for Seeed customers.
Yes, they like it when you buy their products, but please donât expect any real support.
I think I made a big mistake buying the Seeed ReSpeaker 4-mic array and an even bigger mistake when I renewed my subscription to Hack Space magazine (where I first encountered the ReSpeaker).
hello/ Order Number : 210515152000 still not recived. I wait 5 month already. Tracking number that you provided not valid
Absolutely,
I have sent countless (at least 5 emails) to various email accounts on their website, some bounced, no one replied. I purchased the product, and realised its not very good for my intended purpose, and yet the only offer is to join this forum - for what? No support? This company sux and ill be keen to avoid and share my dislike if ever i get the chance to. Pure waste of money and crap company to go with it!
I might be being really stupid here, but how does one go about posting a new topic ?
I canât see how that is done at all.
Thanks
I had the same question. According to Seeed Technical Support, you start a level 0, and need to browse Seeed forums until you get promoted to level 1.
Once you reach level 1, you will be able to post a topic. Thatâs the âbasicâ badge:
âThanks for sticking around and reading a few topics to learn what our community is about. New user restrictions have been lifted; youâve been granted all essential community abilities, such as personal messaging, flagging, wiki editing, and the ability to post multiple images and links.â
You will then see a new button â+New Topicâ
The whole point of a forum is usually to help with issues. I canât even post to ask for help, seems silly⌠you should at least have a beginner category for new people to at least ask simple seed questions until they are able to post elsewhere. I came here to ask a question to see if your hardware would work for my product idea prior to purchasing a bunch of them. If I canât even get any kind of pre-sales community interaction, that seems sketchy no?
Me too. Iâm just wandering around the forum aimlessly and replying here and there (like now !) just to work off my time or replies or reads or whatever the hell they are counting in the hope that I can soon ask a question.
I am also here posting in the hopes that I will be able to ask my beginner question soon
I have selected the XIAO ESP32S3 for a project and just need to know if I can use serial over USB, and also use the pins labeled Tx and Rx for GPIO at the same time.
The getting started page is helpful, but not clear on this detail.
Reply points!
I found this on one of the messages. Seems we need to be Trust Level 1:
Get to trust level 1 byâŚ
- Entering at least 5 topics

Ah thanks, thatâs good to know. I think Iâve replied 3 or 4 times to posts so nearly there !
Iâm trying to get an original V1.0 Respeaker unit going and Iâve got issues following the instructions, results didnât match the expected ones, so I want to reset everything but canât get rid of the âoverlayâ sd card file system thing.
Are there also forums where one can ask a question? I registrered because I wanted to ask a question, but there doesnât appear to be such a function for new members? Amateur hour.
I am still waiting do be âpromotedâ to question-asking privileges !
Iâve read a good few posts and posted half a dozen times but still no âAsk a questionâ or âNew topicâ button for me either.
!!! Iâve been promoted !!! This very morning, the sun is shining as well ! Things are looking great !
Still no ânew topicâ button thoughâŚ
I couldnt find the best place to post this, but why can I not create a new topic if I have a question?
Hi there,
And Welcome hereâŚ
Itâs an Anti Spam thing, you need to reply to a few posts and then youâll have all the normal capabilities.

Hi PJ Glasso,
Thanks for inviting me to the forum. I was hoping to get some specific help with a single nRF52840 board that seemingly cannot connect to anything via bluetooth. However, this anti-spam thing seems to prevent me from posting any new topics. Like several of the other users above, I donât have that privilege at the time of commenting.
Are there instructions somewhere that show more clearly how and when the promotion happens? Is it a waiting period thing? Do I need to leave a certain number of comments? Do I need to follow a certain number of topics?
Thanks
Hi there,
and Welcome here.
just reply to this again , I think it takes 3 , then you get enough forum credz to post links, etc. They got bombed bad a while back so itâs a PITA but needed so.,bare with it, After itâs no issues.
What was the BLE issue? you were having ? I have a drag and drop file in the drag&Drop thread to test that has some BLE demo code running you can connect to the Xiao with Mobile or Desktop using NRF connect for each (desktop) needs $9 dongle. but does a ton of other stuff too, if your troubleshooting or working with BLE projects must have IMHO.

Hi PJ_Glasso, Thanks for inviting me to follow up here. Sorry about the delay, I got busy with life. Iâm back.
My device is running firmware that was programmed by a well respected member of a community that makes video game controllers.
The firmware is hosted on Github. I guess because of user permissions I cannot include any hyperlinks in my post but it is in jfedor2âs repository called âslimbox-btâ
My board design is a simple breakout. I made it to use commonly available arcade stick wiring harnesses to hook the board up to arcade joysticks and buttons for more comfortable living room play. I am âCapnHawkeâ on Github. The board designs are visible in my âGame controller partsâ repo.
I ordered boards from JLCPCB. Because they have a minimum order quantity of five, I ended up with a bunch of extra breakouts. In early April, I soldered on my first xiao nRF52840 (Controller #1). The board successfully took firmware and I started playing video games with it.
The expected behavior is as follows:
- The controller appears to my PC as a âFlatbox rev 7â controller. It uses the same drivers as a google stadia controller.
- After pressing and holding the âstartâ button for three seconds, it enters pairing mode, and is visible in a list of bluetooth devices. I can also see the device on my iPhone.
- After attempting to pair the device on my PC, it should connect and immediately start functioning as a gamepad.
- Button presses register in joy.cpl on Windows devices.
Reasoning that I had a bunch of breakout boards left over, I ordered three more xiao nRF52840 boards and batteries in late June or early July, and attempted to make three additional controllers. I struggled to get firmware on all of them, but at this point I am ready to chalk it up to simple user error. I did eventually get firmware on all three of these (controllers numbered 2, 3, and 4). Controller #2 and #3 both work fine, though I still need to wire them up to actual joysticks and buttons.
Controller #4 has problems with a bluetooth connection. Although Controllers #2 and #3 both follow the expected behavior outlined above, Controller #4 gets stuck at the bluetooth pairing step. It is visible to my PC as a Flatbox Rev 7, just as expected, so there is definitely not a problem with the transmitter on the board. However, when I choose it as a device to pair with, the bluetooth connection instantly fails. The timing is very consistent. The device disappears momentarily from the list of available bluetooth devices while pairing is being attempted, and after the bluetooth connection fails, it reappears as a new device with the same name in my bluetooth devices list. If I do this over and over, I can get my list of bluetooth devices to populate with multiple âFlatbox rev 7â devices, all of which (except for the most recent instance) have failed to connect.
That is where things stand currently. Iâm at a bit of a loss on where to go from here. I wonât rule out that it might have been a bad board from the start. I did not test the board before soldering it to a breakout. But I might have also damaged it with clumsy soldering work. I am unsure.
