We have recently tried to order a few more of these boards through Amazon but find the board we use unavailable. The Amazon link that used to work now shows an older board. Is there a supply problem with the 2-channel MPC2518FD board (the one with the RTC)?
Your link takes me to a Seeed website page for the correct board that says:
“1 on backorder. Estimated shipping time: to be confirmed.”
I interpret that to mean that board is not currently available from Seeed and they don’t know when it will be.
Yes, kind of. I checked again a bit later and said: backorder, estimated time October 2021.
We are all waiting.
By the way, you said it’s working fine. I started comparing logs with other logs created with Vector Cancase and it looks I am missing a few frames. Is it happening to you? Otherwise, what configuration are you using?
Thank you
Yes, I’ve seen extended delivery time estimates from other vendors as well.
“Working fine” may be a bit of an overstatement as we’re still early in our development. We are receiving and sending packets, but we’re not to the point of stress testing where we will be lookiing for lost packets.
My part is to develop intelligent network-bridge/address-translation software. The Seeed board bridges the two CAN busses.
I can tell you this application works. In my case I change data values instead of the addresses.
However, you will see timestamps are not accurate (if this is important for your system)
I don’t know if this problem is a matter of the hat or the raspberry.
Let me know if you got it working or if you need some help.
