Core v2 Alexa project

I’m trying to build my own alexa, and found a writeup on the seeed github page. I also found a 3D print file for a Core v2 box.

I guess my questions are this.

  1. Can the name be changed from snowboy to something else
  2. Can the voice be changed, and if so how/what voice font type do I need SAPI?
  3. the Box drawings in this link seems to have In the zip folder three STL files. However, the Bottom, and the Trumpet fixed ring both look the same. I don’t see that actual bottom plate.
  4. Is there a cover for this to go over the circuit board
  5. oh, and does the Core v2 work with UHS-3 SD cards?

Hi,

  1. Can the name be changed from snowboy to something else

yes, please refer to Q2 of the FAQ, http://wiki.seeedstudio.com/ReSpeaker_Core_v2.0/#faqs

  2. Can the voice be changed, and if so how/what voice font type do I need SAPI?

    do you mean the accent?

  3. the Box drawings in this link seems to have In the zip folder three STL files. However, the Bottom, and the Trumpet fixed ring both look the same. I don’t see that actual bottom plate.

I checked the files and looks like bottom and trumpet fixed ring are the same shape. I will feedback to engineer. By the way, it shall work for the case assemby even they are the same.

  4. Is there a cover for this to go over the circuit board

No, please make sure leave space for the led, mics and button if you want to design a cover.

  5. oh, and does the Core v2 work with UHS-3 SD cards?

It shall support, the the speed can’t be achieved as UHS-3 standard. we do not test it yet. thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me!

2) Can the voice be changed, and if so how/what voice font type do I need SAPI?

do you mean the accent?

Kind of. I don’t want alexa’s voice, I would like to be a male with an British accent. similar to this one, but maybe less robotic… <LINK_TEXT text=“https://harposoftware.com/en/english-uk … brian.html”>https://harposoftware.com/en/english-uk/89-s2g-en-brian.html</LINK_TEXT>

Thanks, let me know what you find!

Hi there, we do not enable the language functions through avs. thanks.

Bill

Thanks for the answers!

I just wanted to check and see if you heard from the engineer by chance.

I printed the box, and can mount the board to the top, but can’t do anything with the speaker in the bottom because of how it assembles. I wasn’t sure if there was a 3d diagram of the pice listed as acrylic. would be cool if the whole thing could be 3d printed and then just assembled…

HI there,

I updated it in wiki. here is the link. thanks
