Cannot get GPS V2 to work

My GPS v2 has came today and i wanted to test it before i update the firmware but for some reason i cant get it to work.

I have upload the GPS test to the board and then I left it out side for 30mins and the screen was still blank. im not sure way its not working what way does the ribbon go on? can anyone suggest anything for me to try or is the board not working?

Same thing happened to me. Try removing the “1” in Serial1.print(buffer); such that it reads Serial.print(buffer); without the “1”. I made this change in all occurrences.
