ReSpeaker Core v2.0 vs ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0

Hi folks,

I want to use the ReSpeaker to control my smart home devices. I found the ReSpeaker, but didn’t understand the difference between ReSpeaker Core v2.0 and ReSpeaker Mic Array v2.0. What I think I understand is, that the ReSpeaker Core v2.0 is a standalone devices while the Mic Array needs a device which controls it. The Mic Array has far field microphones. Is this also true for the Core? Can I use the Core as standalone device and upgrade it with a Mic Array?

I want to use the voice recognition in a room with about 4x6m.

Kind regards

Hi there,

the respeaker mic array v2.0 is only mics with xmos DSP processing, Voice Activity Detection, Direction of Arrival, Beamforming, Noise Suppression, De-reverberation, Acoustic Echo Cancellation . You need to connect o windows/linux/mac to do the voice recognition.

the respeaker core v2.0, integrates the mics and the rk3229 boards, you can program on the rk3229 board to do the voice recognition. You do not need to plug to PCs. It utilizes two algorithms provided by Alango: Beam-forming (BF) and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC).

thanks

cheers
