Mic array in UBUNTU

Hello.

I’m trying to use the ReSpeaker MIC array as USB MIC in Ubuntu. The MIC is recognized, but when I try to record something (with audacity for example), I just get a lot of background noise, and my voice is barely audible in the background.

Any suggestion to fix this?

Thanks,

Hi there,

do you mean the mic array v2.0? If yes, please try to use 1 channel firmware and see any improvement. if not, please help upload the audio files and we can check. thanks.

Hello.

It’s V1.

I’m attaching an MP3 recorded with audacity (also with other tools I have the same result). You can hear my voice in background saying “hello”, but it’s very distorted.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi there,

please follow https://github.com/respeaker/mic_array_dfu to download the 8 channel firmware. then use the audacity to record the audio. Or follow <LINK_TEXT text=“http://wiki.seeedstudio.com/ReSpeaker_M … spberry-pi”>http://wiki.seeedstudio.com/ReSpeaker_Mic_Array/#extract-voice-on-pc-or-mac-or-linux-or-raspberry-pi</LINK_TEXT> to record a audio file. please let us know the result. thanks.

Thank you Bill.

I tried with the firmware and audacity, and I get the same result. I need to try with the python script. I need some day to do it, because I do not have access to the mic now.

I’ll let you know the result.

Thanks,
