Ive been trying recently to get the ReSpeaker 4-Mic Array for Raspberry Pi working on other OS’s other than the raspbian lite edition (where it works like a dream) and not having much luck.
Most recently had a go with Diet Pi and although the install script in git clone https://github.com/respeaker/seeed-voicecard.git seemed to go through correctly when testing with arecord -L there was no trace of the respeaker settings.
Can anyone give me any guidance on how I would get this working on other os’s? what are the basic package requirements for the soundcard?

I believe this should be easy as long as you have mastered kernel development techniques, here is an example, you can refer to it.
