DSO Nano actually a Economy Pocket Oscilloscope DS0201?

Post by RobThePyro » Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:25 am

After just receiving my DSO Nano a bit of google'ing it appears to me that it is just a rebranded DSO201 with alot of info on this forum http://bbs.e-design.com.cn/bbs/index.asp?boardid=5 English Translation:http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... FoDVLtDQdA

Ok well no problems there, I dont really mind. however this caught my eye:

Adjusting the probe compensation capacitor, 10mV 20mV 50mV 0.1V file X10-fold to adjust how the notes should be more ideal, the general range of C5 to check how much capacitance values.
Using X10 probe, 10mV 20mV 50mV 0.1V file is adjusted to C0, C1 main, most models do not have access probe C5. 其余各档补偿电容调整方法与X1档类似。 Rest of the file compensation capacitor adjustment method is similar with the X1 profile. 注意:C1的调整会影响到X1档的补偿,所以最好是先调整X10探头档,再调整X1探头档。 Note: C1 adjustment will affect the compensation X1 file, it is best to adjust the first X10 probe file, and then adjust the X1 probe file.
7). Compensation is not good, needs its own with capacitors, find a suitable capacitance Burongyia 0603;
A: The factory has initially compensated well, sine wave, triangle wave shows no problem, square-wave when the probe will be a little different overshoot, demanding, you can in the original compensation capacitors in parallel, on a capacity-based solder compensation capacitance 1 ~ 5% of the associate compensation capacitor for accurate compensation.

Allthough I dont understand chinese, It would appear that the little "spikes" on the test signal square wave indicate the compensation capacitors need adjusting. (my nano has these spikes...) also it would seem this would cause problems with a x10 probe aswell? Perhaps seeedstudio guys can provide some info here? and a method for getting this scope accurate?

In my case the squarewave signal (1khz input without 10:1 probe) looks good on the nano. I verified it against a calibrated analog oscilloskope and use an external wavegenerator.

No overshoot to see over the whole input ranges, only a little bit overcompensated at some ranges ... but no problem because i don't expect perfect compensation for an unit like this.

The internal generator also looks good, and don't produce any overshoots.

My DSO nano is an V1.1 unit with firmware 2.02 an board revision 1.3A (i think)

it shows how to adjust the overshoot of square wave , we have do this for you.

but just for the X1 . you can modify the compensation capacitor for X10 yourself .
