Wireless Green using only one antenna

Hi

I have an application I have been using Beaglebone Black with USB WiFi with external antenna mounted on metal case.

I would like to use BBGW instead, but would like to avoid having to add second external antenna.

Can the BBGW be operated with only one antenna connected?

George

Hi George, There are two antennae as the device is capable of 2x2 MIMO. So it has the option of using both antennae for Wi-Fi. So ANT1 is used for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and ANT2 is used for the second Wi–Fi channel for MIMO. You can use on board antenna as well without the external antennas. you also can use one external antenna.please refer to schematic page 11 for the antennas. <LINK_TEXT text=“https://github.com/SeeedDocument/Beagle … 160314.pdf”>https://github.com/SeeedDocument/BeagleBone_Green_Wireless/tree/master/resources/BeagleBone_Green%20Wireless_V1.0_SCH_20160314.pdf</LINK_TEXT>
