I would like to know the flexibility of using the Grove DMX512 adapter with external boards, such Raspberry Pi and some cellular and wifi-enabled boards manufactured by pycom…
Unlike the Grove base shield where it’s simple plug-and-play, I would love to learn more about how the two signal ports of the adapter would be plugged into the boards.

The Grove – DMX512 is an adapter from Grove interface to DMX512 interface(industry-standard EIA-485 interface. The module is based on SN75176 chip which can balance transmission lines and meet ANSI Standard EIA-485 interface.
