Seeeduino V4.2 not recognized by Windows 10

I plugged my Seeeduino V4.2 into an USB port on my Windows 10 laptop using a known good cable and I get the error, “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”.

I tried updating the device driver with the device driver on the Seeduino V4 Wiki page, but the error remained.

Suggestions?

did the old forum get deleted? I finally have some time to try fix a batch of seeduino v4.2 i received which didn’t have the usb bootloader flashed during manufacture, there were more details on the old forum post which is missing?

Anyway, lagbolt, this error might be different but the symptoms sound the same as mine. It might be worth checking which batch your board is from and if it has a known fault if the other troubleshooting tips fail.
