Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

I can confirm that using a different structure to hold onto the 'converted' data from the initial structure appears to have eliminated the problem for me - I ran with the modified firmware last night for an 8 hour stretch with no order-of-magnitude latitude or longitude data values. I will fork and ...

(TECH) 5x7 LED source code won't build

The wiki for the 5x7 LED array here: http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/Xadow_LED_5x7 references source code here: https://github.com/WayenWeng/Xadow_LED_5x7/ But that source code, when imported into Eclipse (where I have built other rePhone projects) fails to build for multiple reasons for me, includi...

Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

I'm pretty sure the problem is a race condition. The gps.c file consumes 1 byte at a time from the UART polling, and parses it (ultimately calling the gps_data_convert() function which was fixed). However, the i2c callback (i2c_slave_callback) is invoked whenever the rePhone Wire library asks for so...

Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

I can confirm that flashing the GPS xadow board following the process defined in this other forum post: http://www.seeedstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=6722 worked properly for me; my code changes I submitted above have addressed the longitude string parsing error. The process is straightforwa...

Re: (TECH) Upgrading/Flashing RePhone GPS/NFC modules firmwa

I got it all figured out. What was not clear to me was the the code which was being flashed was being flashed to the GPS xadow part, not to the RePhone part. Nothing was explicit about it, and I thought the gps part simply was the part on the xadow board. Once I realized there was a microprocessor o...

Re: (TECH) Upgrading/Flashing RePhone GPS/NFC modules firmwa

Which is why the flashing code doesn't make sense to me. Since flashing replaces *all* the code in the micro controller, and the only code in the hex file is the code from the gps module, that seems to be a problem to me, which is why I'm asking. Or is the code posted in the hex file both the gps co...

Re: (TECH) Upgrading/Flashing RePhone GPS/NFC modules firmwa

I am going to do the flashing as described at the top of this post, but after looking at the code (and the generated file from the python script), there's something I need explained to me. The hexfile from the gps code fix only contains gps code, yet the firmware is being erased and reflashed with n...

Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

Unfortunately all devices will have the faulty gps parsing code until they are reflashed. Presumably upgraded firmware will be made available at some point. I would like to see the interface changed to provide read/write access to the underlying GPS chipset (the NMEA strings directly) to allow more ...

Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

I see the new object and hex file posted to the github (where I found the source code). I have a bus pirate and OpenOCD, but I will need a little more direction in terms of how to do so. Additionally, everybody who has received one of these parts so far has the GPS library code in it which is inaccu...

Re: GPSv2 inaccuracy

Is there documentation somewhere which shows how to take compiled code from KDS and upload it? Or is this something we need to the rephone development group involved in? Do they monitor these forums?
