Re: Library for Touchscreen

I don't think rewriting the library is the best approach. I think writing a library that subclasses the original class to add your own functions or extensions is a better approach, unless the original library has too many problems to be used in this way, and most of the time that is not the case.

Re: Library for Touchscreen

Because it is possible that the library could be changed "officially" - that is, fixes, additions, etc made to the original source file - you would be better off creating your own library that builds on it, but in a separate file. You have to think what would happen if they DID update the library fi...

Re: TFT touchscreen shield

This looks like a library written pre-Arduino 1.0, but using Arduino 1.0. The fix is usually to change the #include <WProgram.h> to <Arduino.h>

Re: Rainbowduino (LED Cube Matrix Question)

The Rainbow Cube schematic is for 64 RGB LEDs that are arranged on the really unusual thin PCBs that are both structural and wiring elements for the cube, as well as the "panel", which is a base PCB that has about 5 resistors, a voltage regulator, the interface socket pins that plug into the Rainbow...

Re: NFC shield and Sparkfun USB shield

I don't know much about either board, but when working shields are incompatible, it may be that they are each trying to use the same data pins for different purposes. It may be possible to remap data pin usage, but that is tricky, and probably requires software changes.

Re: Rainbowcube - one LED gives wrong colors. HELP?

I still need help. I was hoping that Yuriq might answer here! Here is what I know for sure: Under software control, all LEDs work properly, except for one which can light up with green (with variable intensity) but not red or blue. For that one LED, the LED itself and solder joints work when I apply...

Re: SCROLLING TEXT AND MTXCONTROL WITH RAINBOWDUINO VER3

I have looked around a lot for code for Rainbowduino and have found nothing besides the example programs that come with the library. As for your problem, there isn't enough information for me to advise you. The first thing is to decide whether your hardware works. You can do that by using example pr...

Re: Rainbowduino (LED Cube Matrix Question)

I ordered the Rainbowduino from Amazon too, via MKC Electronics, and received v3.0b, which I believe to be the most recent version. An RGB LED is really 3 LEDs in one package sharing a common anode or a common cathode. The Rainbowduino supports 64 RGB LEDs. If instead you want to support single-colo...

Re: Seeeduino upload error

it displays the following error code: "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00" or "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30". What could this mean, and how do I fix it? It's not a COM port error, as I know I have the right one selected, and I know I have the correct board select...

Re: Rainbowduino V3.0b Newbie

I found that manual in the trochotron site, googling for any kind of info on these products. I agree that it would be very helpful if they created a version with a similar scope for the current version. Arduino is very much of a DIY experience, and there isn't a lot of hand-holding for newbies, thou...
