Re: Received PCB from SeeedStudio

Did you enter the schematics in Eagle first and then went over to the layout/board part of Eagle and placed & routed the parts there? Or did you just "draw" the pads and copper wires directly in the layout/board part? And did you run the Seeed_Gerber_Generater_v0r95_DrillAlign.cam to generate the Ge...

Re: ERC Check - Stop mask error

That wouldn't be a problem for the board house Seeed is using. I plastered one entire side of a pcb with silk screen and the board house cleaned that up so the pcb didn't get any silk on the copper and if I remember correctly no silk directly on the board substrate either.

Re: Different PCBs in one order

You'll only get one order number so I usually add -A -B -C to the name like this: D34535_5x5_Green_0.8mm_10pcs-A.zip D34535_5x5_Green_0.8mm_10pcs-B.zip D34535_5x5_Blue_0.8mm_50pcs-C.zip D34535_5x5_Green_1.6mm_10pcs-D.zip D34535_5x5_Green_0.8mm_50pcs-E.zip No complaints from Seeed so far..... Previou...

Re: Where to buy tools and components?

I use Taobao.com - it's like a Chinese ebay but with 10-90% discount and you can find most things there. The site is in Chinese, but Chrome auto-translates it quite good.

(Except for the word "item" (I think) that gets translated to Baby) Search Baby? :-)

Re: CAM Question

No, you should not make any changes on the options in the cam-file, it's normal for most boardhouses that they want the bottom layers mirrored.

If you just want to have a better look yourself at the files when using Gerbv there's an option in Gerbv to mirror a layer.

Re: via and connecting through

When using the Seeed .DRU-file for Eagle the default via holes are 0.3mm with a 0.6048mm pad, they seems do be handling that size just fine. If I need more current handling capacity I just add a few more vias there or go up to a 0.5mm via.

Re: separate outline file

Having the outline on a copper layer might not be the best. A little while ago someone here posting on the forum about his problems getting the files go through the checks at seeed. He only had the outline on one of the copper layers, when changed to a silk layes the files were accepted for producti...

Re: not delivered on time? anyone else

On my last order I uploaded the gerbers the 14th. Then on the 16th they were send off for production. They were shipped at the 22'nd and traceable the 23'rd. I also received them by DHL on the 23'rd. Most of my PCB orders have been like this. One or two days at Seeed before being sent to production....

Liao: If I happen to visit Shenzhen someday (been wanting to to that for a long time now) can I get a tour of your office?

In regards of new services - Solder paste stencils lasercut out of Kapton would be fabulous!

Re: Sending items

Aww, that sucks. I currently live in Malaysia and here it seems to be the other way round. Regular mail or airmail gets stuck in the customs sometimes, but whenever I use DHL/Fedex it just zips straight thru without any problems. I'm usually too impatient to wait 3 weeks to get the stuff I order, so...
