More on Hardware serial port use on Camera Shield

After another day of researching I found a document which describes the registers and protocol for using the VC0706. https://www.adafruit.com/datasheets/VC0706protocol.pdf There is a fundamental chicken and egg problem in trying to communicate with a device to tell it how you want to communicate wit...

Seeed Camera Shield Hardware Serial Port Config.

I am having trouble getting the Camera shield to work using the hardware serial port to communicate with the camera. The Software Serial port on pins 2,3 or 4,5 works fine until I start using another software serial port to communicate with the XBee radio on the Stalker V2.3 that I have the Camera S...

Seeed Camera Shield

There seem to be a few missing bits of information in the Seeed Camera Shield Wiki. In particular the description of how to modify the default shield configuration to use hardware serial communication with the arduino under it only describes the software changes required. Several hardware changes se...

Re: Camera Shield (with SD) V1.0

Make sure the camera shield is getting 5V power. If you are using a uartsbee to program it make sure the switch is in the 5V position. Also try resetting the camera using the reset button on the camera shield followed by resetting the arduino under it. If it gets interrupted while taking a picture o...

Re: Camera Shield (with SD) V1.0

I found that I had to format the SD card with FAT32 using a Windows PC. Put the SD card into the PC and it should show up in Windows file manager. Right click on it and select Format. Do a quick format FAT32. This will also clear the card. If there are other files on the card the shield example may ...

I recommend the Seeed Camera Shield

I have been able to get it working nicely on a Seeed Stalker V2.3 board. It came up and worked almost immediately. You need to format an SD card to FAT32 before the camera can write to it. A PC with windows running is the best way to do this. The camera shield has the SD drive on it and uses fast SP...

Stalker V3 Power vs. V2.3

In my testing of a Stalker V3 I'm seeing higher power consumption than on V2.3 with the same arduino sketch when my code goes into sleep_mode_PWR_DOWN using the /avr/sleep library. I have now confirmed that the V3 uses 5mA in this mode while the V2.3 uses less than 1mA. I measured the supply current...

Stalker V3 compatibility with Same box as V2.3?

Does the Stalker V3 which has a different board shape, without the corner cutouts and a little shorter than the V2.3 , fit in the plastic box you have been selling for V2.3?

Re: How to power a Seeeduino Stalker v2.3 - water proof

Any old 5V USB wall wart will work. Just connect it where the solar panel goes. You have to cut off the mini USB connector and figure out where the +5 and ground are in the cable and then connect them to the same connector as the solar panel. I usually have the batteries in place but, they may not n...
