Open Source Conservation Kit for Data Logging and Field Research

I think there is some value in creating a basic kit for conservation field researchers. Using grove system enables researchers to prototype and deploy solutions quickly. Using beaglebone enables advantaged customization possible using customization services for beaglebone green. The key for success ...

Open Source Camera Trap

For the past few months I have been talking to few of you about building open source conservation tools. In this post, I would like to propose building a basic camera trap for conservation work. If you don't know what a camera trap is, please read WWF's fantastic resource here https://www.wwf.org.uk...

Re: NEW Product Idea:Grove Kit for NVIDIA Jetson Nano

Thanks Seth for explaining that. Perhaps it is good idea to work on a Camera Cape for Nvidia Jetsone Nano (and upcoming AI capable boards)? We could brainstorm the pros and cons of such a camera cape. Having few additional Grove connectors on this cape would allow adding sensors easily. At least for...

Re: NEW Releasing: Grove AI HAT for Edge Computing and Look forward to your ideas!

Please consider adding a camera that is ideal for future machine vision applications. At the moment Pregius Gen 3 Global Shutter CMOS is the my favorite. :) https://www.sony-semicon.co.jp/products_en/IS/sensor0/industry/technology/pregius.html What do you expect from a good machine vision camera? * ...

Re: NEW Product Idea:Grove Kit for NVIDIA Jetson Nano

It would be good to have a camera that could provide high frame rates with MIPI CSI-2. For machine vision high frame rates would be ideal. Not sure if this is possible through grove system.

Re: C programmer Needed!

My fellow hacker Jack Russell <jackbyte@fastmail.fm> at Hackerspace Phnom Penh is perfect candidate for this. He has over 20 years experience as a programmer and also hacked the firmware Tepmachcha, an open source flood warning system.

Re: NEW Releasing:NVIDIA Jetson Nano Grove Kit

I think it might be a good idea to create 'Voice and Vision' kit instead.

The reason is that Nvidia Jetson nano is very powerful. It is possible to create a lot of vision based AI program that could be interest to both young learners and adult innovators.

Hope this make sense to you.

Re: NEW Releasing:NVIDIA Jetson Nano Grove Kit

I think a high quality camera system would be good addition. Even a 3D visual TOF depth camera could take advantage of Jetson nano's processing capabilities.
